OSF, Cricket PNG To Deliver Program

An agreement between OSF and Cricket PNG was signed on Monday, June 27 paving way for the program to be implemented in selected schools in NCD, Central and Gulf provinces.

This new agreement further supports Cricket PNG to use a previous investment by OSF in purchasing the equipment in 2020.

The pandemic prevented the implementation of the program in 2021 and both partners are very pleased to see this initiative come to fruition.

Santos Partners To Deliver Health Plan

The agreement was signed at a recent meeting by Santos funded OSF Executive Director, Stephanie Copus-Campbell, Southern Highlands Provincial Health Authority (PHA) Board Chair and Health Department Secretary, Dr Osbourne.   

The theme of the NHP is ‘Leaving no-one behind. Together we can do it.’ Building effective multi-sectoral partnerships, including with the private sector, is also a key cross cutting theme in the NHP to improve health indicators across the country. 

Santos Delivers Record Production, Sales

Santos Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Kevin Gallagher said the strong production combined with higher commodity prices delivered record quarterly free cash flow of US$865 million, an increase of 186 per cent from the corresponding period last year.

“By designing our portfolio to provide strong cash flows throughout the commodity price cycle, our disciplined, low-cost operating model has positioned us to take full advantage of the increase in commodity prices,” Mr Gallagher said.

Santos-UPNG Partnership Continues

The ES Division Associate Professor & Divisional Head, Dr Joseph Espi, received the books on behalf of the division, from the technical leaders and former graduates now employed by Santos. 

Santos Continues Naming Rights

Santos Executive Vice President and Co-Head PNG, Leon Buskens said Santos is pleased to announce its partnership with PNG's National Sport - Rugby League through the naming rights of the National Football Stadium following the merger with Oil Search, the inaugural naming rights sponsor. 

“Santos is proud to be part of the ongoing development of Rugby League, a sport that many Papua New Guineans love, and the naming rights sponsorship of the country’s world class stadium will go a long way,” he said. 

Milestone Gas Agreement Executed

The signing of the gas agreement marks a major milestone for the project, setting out the fiscal framework and supporting project scoping and evaluation.

Upon completion, up to five per cent of P’nyang gas produced would also be made available to support the government’s electrification efforts in Western Province or another agreed location.

Santos-Oil Search Ltd Merger Likely

He said: “Oil Search as we know, we’ve had our agreements and disagreements with Oil Search Ltd but nobody can deny the fact that Oil Search Ltd has played a huge role during the period that it’s been around.”

Minister Kua added: “We have to give credit, recognize and respect them for the positive things that they have already done.”

He said it is likely that in a merger with Santos, Oil Search Ltd would be lost.

“In a merger with Santos, Oil Search in its current form will be lost and subsumed into another new entity and that will have its consequences.”

Santos donates to relief efforts

The funds were donated on Tuesday through the Oil Search Foundation by PNG Country Representative, Ces Iewago.

Santos Country Representative, Ces Iewago, officially announced the US$200, 000 funding through Oil Search Foundation on behalf of Santos CEO, Kevin Gallagher.

Iewago said Santos is making the donation through the Foundation due to its initial response in the aftermath of the earthquake.

He said Oil Search efforts to make over 87 supply drops with nearly 50 tons of food, shelter and medical supplies was tremendous.


Santos to focus on key gas assets

PNG Industry News reports that CEO, Kevin Gallagher, who is 12 months into his new role, will have non-core assets across Asia and Australia stripped out, packaged up, and sold or divested in a strategy for Santos to pull back to PNG and Australia.

The company has renewed its long-term commitment to PNG, and said deals were likely on new projects, although a focus will be on incorporating the giant P'nyang gas field into PNG LNG's next train.
