It was a culmination of 18 weeks of demonstration of transfer of knowledge assessment, and two weeks of intensive training covering four modules on irrigated rice farming at the PNG University of Technology in 2023.

The farmers, who proudly received their certificates in irrigated rice farming, are from 13 provinces, including Morobe, Bougainville and Milne Bay.

Today marks the 30^th graduation for the 2023 Cohort for Semesters 1 and 2 themed ‘Inclusivity and Empowerment’. Siawi, who is the outgoing SRC President, is one of 1400 students who graduated.

Graduates were awarded in Advanced Diploma in Accounting, Diploma of Accounting, Certificate 4 in Accounting and Bookkeeping, Certificate 3 in Accounts and Administration, Diploma of Business Administration, Certificate 4 in Business, Certificate 3 in Business, Certificate 2 in Workplace Skills, and Diploma in International Education.

Nineteen students graduated with an internationally recognized Certificate II in Construction qualification. At the same time, nine staff members of Manus Training Centre (MTC) completed International Skills Training (IST) TVET Trainer and Assessor certificates, contributing to their capacity as training staff.

“Manus faces limited educational opportunities. Therefore, initiatives like these are crucial for our locals, particularly students from the first and second cohorts of the Certificate II in Construction program,” said Paul Buka, MTC Manager.

The principal of the school, Betty Pako Leo, said this year is a special graduation because it has been a tough year with the tribal fights going on in the district and throughout the province. The school successfully graduated nine Grade Eight students this year despite the tribal fighting that lasted for months, resulting in the burning of hundreds of houses and leaving tens of thousands as refugees in the Wapenamanda District. Even students from the affected areas managed to graduate this year.

The ceremony, held on November 22nd and 29th in Tabubil, featured two sessions to accommodate the diverse work rosters of the participants.

The RISE Program, initiated in 2021, marked its third cohort this year, offering a comprehensive 7-month curriculum aimed at empowering and developing female employees for their current roles and future promotional opportunities. A total of 90 women employees have now completed the program, demonstrating OTML's dedication to fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce.

The event was graced by notable figures including Chairperson Anna Bais, deputy chair Ruby Kerepa, Treasurer Michelle Hauofa, CPL Group Marketing Manager Christopher Lam, City Pharmacy Marketing manager Momo Carol Ako, and CPL Foundation Project Coordinator Regil Wanwanji.

Commencing with opening prayers, the ceremony took a delightful turn when 5-year-old Miss Cecilia Baia captivated the audience by reading a Buk bilong Pikinini-published reader titled “My Village: Tatana Island.”

About 382 students walked into the Kurongku hall to participate in the 26^th graduation for Grade 12 and the Industrial Training Course on Wednesday 15^th November.

It was also the 22^nd Graduation ceremony for the Employment Oriented Skills Development Training.

This was the encouragement given to the Grade 12 graduating students of Lae Secondary School yesterday by the acting Prime Minister and Lae MP, John Rosso.

428 grade 12 students graduated yesterday under the theme: ‘Quality citizens through quality education’.

While speaking to them, Rosso outlined the values that will guide them in their future endeavour; perseverance, dedication, determination, hard work, desire, discipline and loyalty.

Institute Director, Zackery Kipsy made this statement during the second graduation of 35 students on Saturday 11^th November at the Malibu estate campus, Limki.

Out of the 35 graduates, six were female students. Technical courses students studied covered electrical, auto mechanical, electoral technology, heavy equipment fitter, building and carpentry.

Among them was a male graduate living with disability who graduated with Certificate III in Carpentry (CPC30220).

Twenty-six women were also featured at the graduation ceremony, which took place at the APTC Campus in Port Moresby recently.

The proud graduates attained Australian qualifications in Carpentry, Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Commercial Cookery, Individual Support, Construction, Leadership & Management, Hospitality, Tourism, Applied Fashion Design and Technology, and International Skills Training (IST) Trainer and Assessor courses.
