K618 million budget for ENB

Governor Michael Marum when handing down the budget on Monday, 6th February told the Provincial Executive Council that the K618, 107, 790 consists of national government grants,  K340, 933,300, provincial internal revenue K101,200,000,  District Development Authority budget of K140, 404, 090 and Local Level Government budget of K35, 570,400.

East New Britain Provincial internal revenue for 2023 is forecasted to be K101, 200,000 which comprises of K31,000,000 as recurrent and K34,000,000 as development including former years of K36, 200,000.

LLG Presidents Boycott Provincial Budget

Suwai LLG President, Joe Waure Muel told this newsroom that the presidents are in Port Moresby to put a stop to the 2022 Simbu Provincial Budget.

He said Chimbu people have not been informed of why the budget is being boycotted.

Mr Muel claimed that Governor, Michael Dua is now running around trying to persuade relevant Ministers to approve the budget without the provincial assembly members input.  

Provinces get bigger slice of 2017 Budget

This is an increase of 1.1 per cent from the 2016 Supplementary Budget.

The sector allocation comprises of K2,203.5 million operational expenditure and K1,428.1 million capital expenditure.

The total Provincial budget also consist of K463.2 million Goods and Services Tax and Bookmakers Turnover Tax.

The operational expenditure consists of K1,512.3 million Personnel Emoluments and K591.3 million Goods and Services.
