Provinces get bigger slice of 2017 Budget

This is an increase of 1.1 per cent from the 2016 Supplementary Budget.

The sector allocation comprises of K2,203.5 million operational expenditure and K1,428.1 million capital expenditure.

The total Provincial budget also consist of K463.2 million Goods and Services Tax and Bookmakers Turnover Tax.

The operational expenditure consists of K1,512.3 million Personnel Emoluments and K591.3 million Goods and Services.

Nukundj leads way with successful implementation of DSIP projects

The district was once in a deplorable stage over the years and now it is experiencing a major infrastructures being implemented in terms of education, health, roads and bridges. 

One of the major success of the DDA is the rehabilitation and building of new double classrooms and dormitories for both elementary, primary and secondary schools as well as up-grading and sealing of all feeder and new roads within the district.

Government to release ABG Members’ funds

Prime Minister Peter O’Neill when responding to questions by Lae MP Loujaya Kouza regarding the formation of District Development Authority (DDA). 

O'Neill said Bougainville is still under the government of PNG and their districts have all the right to access the funds from the government. 

He said the MPs have the right to access the District Services Improvement Programme (DSIP) and other grants. 

O'Neill further reiterated that the three Bougainville MPs have the right to have a DDA and report to the Office of Rural Development for their acquitals.
