Super savings made easier for vendors

This service was made possible following a recent signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Nasfund and the Madang Town Authority.

The instrument of the MoU was signed by Nasfund’s Head of Special Projects, Judah Waffi and the Madang Town manager, Chris ToRot.

The product is relevant and convenient for rural vendors to access optional superannuation of Eda Supa. Once they open an Eda Supa account with K100 they can begin saving any amount from their earnings.

Madang Market Closed Indefinitely

Madang town market manager Otto Janjet said he was advised to close the market because of the sensitivity of the issue. He said the market management is also assisting the police to identify the instigators that lead to the killing of the innocent woman. Janjet said he is working closely with the police to ensure the investigation progresses.

The main suspect, a 29-year-old man, has been charged with willful murder for the death of Dugul.

Madang Market Deceased Was From Bugati, Rai Coast: Police

Madang Provincial Police Commander Acting Superintendent Mazuc Rubiang said the man who has been arrested in connection with her death is from Enga Province. He is currently in custody.

Police established that there was fight at the front of the market, between a security guard who manned the service station in town, and some youths. 

Woman Killed At Madang Town Market

Madang Provincial Police Commander Acting Superintendent Mazuc Rubiang said two other men were also injured in the same incident and admitted to hospital. PPC Rubiang said the situation in town is tense.

Police have urged the public not to instigate any further trouble after properties were damaged as a result of the killing and injuries of the two men. This included damage to important equipment at a service station. 

Madang Market Ordered to Close

The notice was issued to the Market Manager, Otto Janjet to stop the market from operating, as there were piles of rubbish sitting at the market for over a month.

When serving the order for closure, a commotion erupted between the health inspectors and the market manager yesterday.

Janjet told the Madang Urban LLG health inspectors that he will not close the market but will clean up the pile of rubbish that had been there.
