Pink Panda win Lamana mix-doubles pool competition

The competition which ran for three weeks featured 40 teams, divided into 8-pools of 5-teams each. The competition ran three weeks before the finals.

Panda, consisting of evergreen Kelly Yambi and partner Dolly Berua, came out firing by blacking-out Panther’s delight with a handy 4-1 victory in a best of 7-frames battle on Thursday 21st of March, 2024.

The premiership victory enabled Panda to claim the prestigious prize of K3,000 cash and two trophies presented to each team member. 

UOG Marks Silver Jubilee

Acting Vice Chancellor, Dr Teng Waninga, when unveiling the silver jubilee logo on Wednesday, March 23, presented this wonderful surprise for staff and students.

The fireworks by Lamana Hotel attracted families who came along and enjoyed this spectacular sight.

Dr Waninga told Lamana Hotel’s General Manager, Yiannis Nicolaou that such a colorful display was a good sign to start the year off with a big bang.

You’ve heard of Kangen water?

It is water collected through a special technology developed by Japanese company Enagic, enhancing the quality of any clean water, producing what many refer to as perfect "living water”.

Lamana general manager, Yiannis Nicolaou, was introduced to it by Michelle Tempongko Jones, a Nutritionist, Naturopath and Wellness coach.

After trying the water for a few months, the GM had the hotel install an Enagic Super 501 machine in its kitchen on June 14. 

The best out from ink on skin

The studio is located at the Lamana Hotel.

It opened last year, but was forced into a three month recess when the previous tattoo artist left.

But now, it’s back in operation and it’s even better.

Well, the new tattooist is Kiel Marquez.

Kiel is a fine art major, from the Philippines.

He has had five years of experience in the business and has had to compete in some of the best tattoo competitions in manila.

But that’s not the main reason why.

Live music to end FIFA World Cup games at Lamana

Well, Lamana Hotel may have just that plan for you.

The Lamana Gold Club has been doing Export Soundwave Live music shows once a month.

Sponsored by the brand Export from SP Brewery, the Export Soundwave Live Music gives artists a platform to perform live for the public.

In October, the artists were Jaro Local, Ozlam & Chucki Juice who are well known on the airwaves with Meri Kalibobo.

In November, the headliner was Moses Tau backed by Unit 5 band and featuring Nathan Nakikus.

Spring Runway opens with World Supermodel PNG set to excite

The runway is a judging phase of World Supermodel PNG, which began early this month.

Spring runway will introduce 13 contestants into the pageant and choose the top 10 models to compete in the world supermodel PNG, local platform in 2017.

There are two categories, adult category will see 8 contestants, while the teen category will see five contestants.

This pageant is the first of its kind and World supermodel PNG national director Phylma Kelegai said preparations to it are going well.

Lamana and Beachside Brasserie to provide catering at FIFA World Cup

The VIP & Corporate catering contracts were signed yesterday by the two leading hoteliers and restaurateurs.

Lamana Hotel and Beachside Brasserie will provide high quality food and beverage to all local and international VIPs and corporate guests throughout the three-week tournament.

Local Organising Committee (LOC), Chief Executive Officer Seamus Marten, says both companies have fulfilled all of FIFA’s requirements in terms of food range and specifications during their successful taste testing sessions.

And Lamana Hotel Assistant Manager Jacquie Simons has already confirmed that early bird tickets are selling fast.

“We're currently selling the early bird tickets: Early Bird General Arena K30 & Early Bird General Balcony K75 which are selling fast but are limited so people have to purchase soon as once we run out, we will be selling at full price: General Arena K50 & General Balcony K100 & The Temple K150,” she said.

Max-A-Million will be performing at a one night concert at the Gold Club on October 22.

Miss Pacific Islands PNG an extravaganza night

The event will see 10 local designers showcasing a total of 71 outfits under three categories, Day/Evening wear, the Sarong wear (laplaps) and the Traditionally Inspired Dress.

There are 45 outfits for Day/Evening wear, 11 laplaps for Sarong wear and 13 outfits for Traditionally Inspired Dress.

Guests are expected to start arriving by six this evening before the doors shut at 7pm sharp for the program to kick off.

Giving a sneak preview of the program last Thursday, the organising committee said tonight will be a packed extravaganza.
