Darryl is from Auckland, New Zealand. He has more than 30 years’ insurance industry experience in New Zealand, Asia and the Pacific.   

Darryl is not new to PNG, having first come to PNG in 1995, working with New Zealand Insurance’s PNG Office until 1998. Since that time, Darryl has developed a very strong resume, which included roles such as the Managing Director - National Pacific Insurance Ltd; General Manager – QBE Fiji; and Territory Manager-QBE PNG and Solomon Islands. 

HP launches premier dealership in PNG

Remington Group CEO Peter Goodwin said is the first time HP has signed a premier dealership outside Australia, or in any other Pacific Island nation.

He said Remington is proud to celebrate its new Premier Business Solutions PNG dealership.

“It is significant, not only for us as a group, but for Papua New Guinea as the first and only HP Premier Dealership in the region as well.”

NRL Legends excites children and parents with surprise visit at POMGH

Former Brisbane Broncos players and legends, Justin Hodges, Petero Civoniceva and Kevin Champion took some time off today and paid a visit to the Port Moresby General Hospital Pediatric Children’s ward this afternoon.

Excited children and parents at the Pediatric Ward woke up from their beds and took the opportunity to shake the players’ hands and take picture as well.

The legends did a walk-through of all three of the hospitals children’s ward to have a chat with children admitted at the ward escorted by the hospitals newly appointed CEO, Dr Umesh Gupta.

New PNGRFL boss looking forward to challenge

Rau was the treasurer of the PNGRFL since 2012 until his official appointment as CEO last night.

“It’s going to be an interesting journey. I am looking forward to the challenge.

“Being on the board for the last three years, I was part and parcel of the governance restructuring of the PNGRFL as treasurer.

“I was also in charge of the finance and audit committee of the PNGRFL and we since 2013 until now have done a lot of reformation, a lot of restructuring.

PMGH celebrate birthdays of 86 staff members

Adding to the excitement were 86 staff members’ birthdays who also celebrated with cake.

The staff of the Critical Care department staffs of PMGH were thanked for leading the Heart felt program last Friday.

Nurses, doctors and general services staff of PMGH received certificates for their hard work with Nursing Services Division, Sister Theresia Miae, who took care of patients at TB ward, scooped up two awards; The “Nurse of the Month” and the “Employee of the Month”.

Twitter gives co-founder Jack Dorsey a 2nd chance as CEO

The hiring revealed Monday in a regulatory filing ends Twitter's three-month search for a new leader. It marks Dorsey's second stint as CEO since he helped start the San Francisco company more than nine years ago with Evan Williams, Biz Stone and Noah Glass.

Twitter dumped Dorsey his first time around, but its board of directors is now convinced he has the maturity and expertise to fix the problems that have caused the company's stock to lose nearly half its value in the past five months.
