The Presidents claim the Board has hijacked the process to avoid the election of a new chairman and Director of the Southern Confederate.

The PNGRFL AGM scheduled for today was deferred to the 28^th of March.

The main agenda of the AGM included was the election of the PNGRFL Chairman and Director of the Southern Confederate.

In a media conference, 22 Presidents from the Southern and Northern confederates aired their disappointment over the call to defer the AGM at the eleventh hour.

The announcement was made by the PNGRFL CEO, Reatau Rau, at the signing of the five-year agreement with Coca-Cola PNG Ltd yesterday.

Krewanty was Kumul number 105.

He came through the schools rugby league program in the 1970s, joined the PNGRFL in 2012 as part of the NRL Bid program where in the following year, he was appointed Game Development manager.

PNGRFL CEO Reatau Rau said Krewanty became the first team manager of the SP PNG Hunters when it entered the Queensland Intrust Super Cup competition in 2014.

PNGRFL CEO, Reatau Rau, made this statement in the presence of international rugby league representatives recently.

The Rugby League International Federation (RLIF) and the Rugby League World Cup 2021 in England staff were in Port Moresby to discuss the International Development Program.

In a joint press conference last week, PNGRFL CEO Reatau Rau said changes made in the past years has placed them in a better position to attract international events.

PNG Rugby Football League chairman, Sandis Tsaka, yesterday revealed the appointment of a chairperson of the newly-established PNG Orchids Executive Management Committee (OEMC), as well as a new head coach.

Experienced journalist and public relations executive, Ruth Waram, is the new chairperson of the PNG Orchids Executive Management Committee, while the new head coach of the women’s national team is former PNG Kumul David Westley.

PNG Rugby Football League CEO, Reatau Rau, made this statement during the announcement of the SP PNG Hunters game in Lae.

The Hunters will be playing against the Norths Devils at the Lae Rugby League ground on July 22^nd.

In preparation for this international match, the PNG Rugby Football League, with the Lae Rugby League, have been working around the clock to ensure that the venue, as well as protocols, are on par with the Queensland Rugby League’s requirements.

The PNG Rugby Football League has officially announced that the Hunters will play in Lae on Sunday, July 22^nd.

As part of the Intrust Super Cup country week game, the SP Hunters will be playing against the Norths Devils in the round 19 match.

In a press conference today, PNGRFL CEO, Reatau Rau, said the theme for the country week is ‘Get in the game’, and this includes community engagements and conducting coaching clinics, which the SP Hunters players and staff will attend to.

These two games will mark the official start to our PNG Rugby League season.

Our two champion teams – Digicel Cup premiers Lae Snax Tigers and Queensland Intrust Super Cup premiers SP PNG Hunters - begin their defence against quality opposition.

In a statement, PNGRFL CEO, Reatau Rau explained that both games are equal in status with the first game between the Tigers and Nadi Aviators not dubbed as a curtain raiser but the first of the international double header for the day.

He said the signing of Stanton will help Wellington a lot after the sudden loss of Kato Ottio.

“We know they are in good hands with the Vikings. Having Stanton there makes things a bit easier. It will really help in the transition process and to settle in quickly,” stated Rau.

“We are grateful to Widnes Vikings for this opportunity.”

Rau then wished the Albert brothers good luck this season.

“I’m proud of Wellington and Stanton and wish them and our other Kumuls boys all the best this season.

Rau extended his appreciation to every Papua New Guinean and in particular, the franchises that supported the eight teams this season.

“The PNG National Rugby League Competition which runs the Digicel Cup became part of the PNGRFL structure this season.

“We had strict guidelines and proper competition manuals to follow. The eight teams that participated followed these rules and guidelines which made the competition a big success.

PNGRFL CEO, Reatau Rau, said this confirmation was received yesterday after the Hunters claimed the minor premiership following their 28-22 win over Wynnum Manly Seagulls on the weekend.  

“QRL Competitions Manager, Dave Maiden, in an email advised that the week 2 semi-final will definitely be held in Port Moresby,” said Rau.

“The SP Hunters opponents could be either be the Redcliffe Dolphins or Easts Tigers. This will be determined after the final round this weekend.”
