Williamson heads Pacific MMI

Pacific MMI have recently announced the appointment of Darryl Williamson as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Darryl is from Auckland, New Zealand. He has more than 30 years’ insurance industry experience in New Zealand, Asia and the Pacific.   

Darryl is not new to PNG, having first come to PNG in 1995, working with New Zealand Insurance’s PNG Office until 1998. Since that time, Darryl has developed a very strong resume, which included roles such as the Managing Director - National Pacific Insurance Ltd; General Manager – QBE Fiji; and Territory Manager-QBE PNG and Solomon Islands. 

Pacific MMI Board director, Michael Makap has welcomed Darryl back to Papua New Guinea, and to Pacific MMI.

“We are confident that, in Darryl, we have found the right leader for PMMI, who will boost our service delivery to our clients and enhance our strong relationships with our partners and key stakeholders,” said Mr Makap. 

Darryl holds a Bachelor of Applied Management (Strategic Management), and is a Senior Associate of the Australian & New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIFF). 
He also serves as a Non-Executive Director of the Pacific Catastrophe Risk Insurance Company (PCRIC). 
 
Darryl brings strong technical skills to PMMI, and is a proven executive manager and team-builder who will continue the upward trajectory of PMMI.
