AFL program receive boost from Australia HC

Australian Football League Papua New Guinea (AFL PNG) has received additional sporting equipment to boost its sports outreach program in the country.

Eleven provincial centres will receive footballs, jerseys and training equipment donated from Australia to help improve youth participation and inclusive training for people living with disability.

The Australia High Commission provided funding for the shipment of the equipment from Brisbane, Australia to Port Moresby through a Direct Aid Program grant.

Manus to get new K15m police complex

Costing up to K15 million, in partnership with the Australian Government, the RPNGC Provincial Police Headquarters and Lorengau Police Station’s aim is to increase safe access to law and justice services and support police in making communities safer.

Speaking on behalf of Manus Governor Charlie Benjamin was Deputy Governor John Popot, who says this new police station will boost police morale. It will also instill respect and appreciation from the public for police work within Lorengau.
