Niue police warn against scam emails

Niue's chief of police, Tony Edwards, says there have been reports of emails trying to scam people in Niue to provide personal information and send money overseas.

He says these types of scams are a common problem in the Pacific, and Niue police have been out in the community raising awareness about the issue.

Tony Edwards says they've been teaching people how to recognise the scams and are telling them to report it to the police.

Silent 911 call leads police to 5 dead in Oklahoma home

 

Investigators, some wearing white booties to protect their shoes, stepped gingerly around a pool of blood near the front of the home Thursday morning. Other officers erected black tarps and blue tarps to shield the home from reporters and neighbours while they gathered clues. The bodies remained at the home into late-morning.

Security operations begin

In a joint parade, Police, Defense and Correctional Services personnel formed up and marched on into the Sir John Guise stadium then form up at the outer field where a parade was hosted by the police Commissioner.

The parades Reviewing Officer, Prime Minister Peter O’Neill in his address says that he was very proud as a Papua New Guinean to participate and be part of the parade that would launch their security operations.

Prime Minister O’Neil says that his government has placed priority in the rebuilding of the three disciplinary forces.
