Sprite Saikap

Lae are you ready to SAIKAP?!

A brand new season of Sprite SAIKAP has been hitting PNG, since April.

Laying off for a while, since the last event in Kokopo, East New Britain, the team is now in Morobe’s capital, ready to work up a crowd at Eriku tomorrow, Saturday September 2nd.

The free event, from 10am -12pm, will feature raw, unedited, street art in the form of beat boxing, one-on-one dance off, freestyle rapping, spray painting and a lot more entertainment.

Sprite SAIKAP is part of Sprite’s global campaign “Obey you”, which focuses on young people.

Street Art display at Sprite Saikap

Kick starting Sprite’s global campaign “Obey you”, Sprite Saikap dropped with a bigger noise this year.

Working up a good crowd at Vision City today, Sprite Saikap featured a glimpse into Port Moresby’s street art.

There was freestyle beat boxing, one on one dance off, free style rapping, spray painting competitions and cool games where participants won sprite prices.

The crowd was close to 400, despite the Port Moresby sun.

Bringing out talents with Sprite

This idea is captured through Sprite Saikap – the PNG adaptation of Sprite’s global campaign “Obey you”.

In its second year now, the event is staged with the main message to encourage young people to step out of their comfort zones and follow their passions.

“We understand that with the literacy rate in PNG, sometimes, people are not so academically talented. So Sprite Saikap is just to encourage them that you don’t have to be school smart or book smart to make something for yourself,” said campaign manager Jacob Ilave.
