Street Art display at Sprite Saikap

Youth and street art came alive yesterday in Port Moresby.

Kick starting Sprite’s global campaign “Obey you”, Sprite Saikap dropped with a bigger noise this year.

Working up a good crowd at Vision City today, Sprite Saikap featured a glimpse into Port Moresby’s street art.

There was freestyle beat boxing, one on one dance off, free style rapping, spray painting competitions and cool games where participants won sprite prices.

The crowd was close to 400, despite the Port Moresby sun.

“They were really engaging. It was so cool to see everyone excited and coming up onto the stage and strut their stuff. We had great interaction and atmosphere,” said the campaign manager Jacob Ilave.

He said Sprite wants to give back something to the country, especially to the youth.

“Coke is doing well with the music, so sprite is targeting the area of art,” he added.

Sprite Saikap wil be in Mt Hagen on April 8, Kokopo in April 22 and Lae in May 6.

“We encourage public to come along, onto the stage, especially those with talented skills – street art dancing, to come participate.”
