Moana to match Orchids

Moana young gun Chantay Kiria-Ratu will return to the international stage a household name after leading a breakout season in the Gold Coast and is set to be reunited alongside Sharks star Kiana Takairangi and Raiders powerhouse prop Kerehitina Matua.

With five players named to make their Moana debut, the Cook Islands are set to unveil plenty of fresh faces and new talent as they look to make a statement on the international stage after missing last year's World Cup finals.

Seven NRLW stars in PNG Orchids squad

Albert, whose NRLW campaign for Parramatta was limited to just 25 minutes due to a calf injury, will be joined by Raiders hooker Ua Ravu and the Cowboys quintet of Essay Banu, Jessikah Reeves, Sareka Mooka, Sera Koroi and Shellie Long.

The 27-year-old prop has led the way for Papua New Guinea players in the NRLW after moving to Australia in 2020 to join Souths Logan Magpies in the Queensland Cup and before being signed by St George Illawarra.

PNG Kumuls, Orchids named

The teams under Head Coaches Justin Holbrook of the PNG LNG Kumuls and Ben Jeffries of the Santos PNG Orchids, are set to field the best available athletes in the sport, competing at the highest possible level and also exposing talent having come through the existing PNGRFL pathways.

PNG LNG Kumuls Head Coach, Justin Holbrook, will lead his team boasting PNG exports to England, Edwin Ipape of the Leigh Leopards and Wellington Albert of the London Broncos.

K300,000 For Orchids World Cup Campaign

The financial boost goes towards the Orchids campaign for the Rugby League World Cup in October 2022 in England.

The cheque presentation ceremony was held between BSP and PNG Rugby Football League (PNGRFL) yesterday, 11th of August, at the Santos stadium.

BSP now joins platinum sponsors Digicel, National Gaming Control Board (NGCB) and Santos.

Officiating at today’s presentation were BSP General Manager Digital, Nuni Kulu flanked by PNGRFL CEO Stanley, PNG Orchids Chairlady, Okaro Yoki and Orchid’s head coach, Ben Jefferies.
