The program also known as the Hamamas long Pilai, under the Team Up program aimed for children playing netball under the Madang Netball Association.

Madang is the third province they have visited, this program ultimately seeks not only to teach children about the correct skills in netball, but also to teach them about basic hygiene skills, which is essential for a healthy body when playing sports.

The KHNT has been dormant for some time, it was decided after much deliberation of a board and the official grant permitted by the Controller, to allow for the games be run from September 19^th-23^rd at Barakau village.

The tournament’s theme is Promoting Young Leaders, and in doing so, KHNT aims to groom players at a young age to prepare them for their future endeavours.

The PNG Netball Federation have changed the competition structure and because of these changes, the national competition level focuses on the U15, 17, 21 and A grade.

Leka-Maliaki is contesting as an independent candidate and was led to the nomination venue by family members and supporters.

She joins 16 other candidates already nominated so far to contest the Rigo seat including two other female candidates.

Leka-Maliaki said her nomination is a good representation for the women of Rigo and Central Province.

"It gives us the opportunity to put our hands up to discuss issues at the highest level.

"I am thankful to the people of Rigo who have given women the opportunity to contest," she said.
