Goldie River Training Depot

This incident occurred around 4.00AM this morning at Kupiano in Central Province during a final field exercise for the Corporal Qualifying Course conducted at Goldie River Training Depot.

Two others are injured, including a civilian. All have since been evacuated to the Port Moresby General Hospital and their families. Details of the service personnel will be released once all internal protocol requirements for members killed in action, are done.

On the far right against the backdrop of the Recruit Company Lines, recruits ran out in numbers to form up outside. 

"Stand at ease. Attention! “It was the duty Non Commissioned Officer, Lance Corporal Langan Pakau barking the words of command at the recruits.

Lance Corporal Pakau is an instructor at the home of PNGDF recruitment training at Goldie River Training Depot in the Central Province of Papua New Guinea. He is among the many soldiers and officers currently posted to the Training Cell or on detachment at Goldie for the recruit training.

The first of its kind engagement aims to bridge the gap between members and executive management of CTSL so contributors to the Defence Force Retirement Benefit Fund have first-hand information about the activities of the fund as well as to answer questions.

Well attended by contributing member, it was an opportunity for the fund to inform them of their current activities.
