Tigers up for challenge

This match will be the final preliminary final of the 2023 Digicel ExxonMobil Cup Competition. The winner of the match proceeds into the grand final to play the EPG Enga Mioks, while the loser bows out of the competition.

This highly anticipated match kicks off today at 2:50 p.m. at the Santos National Football Stadium.

But one of Morobe’s very own, Sonny Wabo has reminded the fans that his side is well prepared for the challenge.

Gurias escape defeat

The Eagles found the Gurias wanting in the opening half of the high-scoring affair but could not hold on in the end.

Gurias could be counting their lucky stars after a horror start to Sunday’s match against 12th place and fellow foundation club, Hagen Eagles before rallying their way back into the contest in the second stanza to secure the win.

The see-sawing clash saw the high-flying Eagles living up to their name early, exposing Gurias left edge to draw first blood.

Mioks are minor premiers

The Mioks defeated Gulf Isou 18-14 in their closing round 16 clash in Lae on Sunday to complete a monumental season with 15 wins and 1 draw.

At the conclusion of the regulation rounds, Mioks finished outright clear leaders with 31 points.

They are six points clear ahead of second placed Tigers on 25 points. Wigmen are on third place (24 points), Gurias 4th (22 points), Muruks are on 5th (17 points), Lahanis 6th spot (17 points).

Wigmen cruise past Pride

At the back of seven consecutive wins and two draws, reigning champions Hela Wigmen are starting to hit their straps with only three more rounds left before the pool matches conclude and the top six are decided.
