They defeated Morobe United 2-0 in the grand final today at the UPNG Oval.

The boys in orange proved too strong, scoring eight minutes into the game to make it 1-0 through Patrick Aisa right in front of net.

Real Blacks’ strong defence kept them from scoring despite several attempts.

Morobe had the advantage of height but were scoreless at half time 1-0.

The second half was intense as both teams showed off their skills while the game picked up momentum and the crowd were on their feet supporting their favourite team.

Under the Bougainville Peace Agreement, the region is due to hold the independence vote before 2020.

The Autonomous Bougainville Government has set up the Department of Referendum, Veterans' Affairs and Peace, with former President, James Tanis, as the interim secretary.

Mr Tanis says they will prepare the region for the vote but to do that they need assistance, and he wants the international community to pitch in.

One child is reportedly dead and two others are in critical condition.

The Tatou health care, a private clinic in Buka town said they received phone calls and radio messages from the island and have alerted the provincial health authorities in Buka.

Anne Marie Momea from Tatou health care said the outbreak started last month.

“We have alerted authorities and they said to utilize MV Rapois but there is no fuel for the ship,” Moma said.

He says these services include high impact projects like road sealing, bridges, rural electricity as well as social services like education and health.

Momis says peace is really the end result of the people’s meaningful and effective participation in the process of economic, social and political development.

A quick check by New Dawn FM to Guava village saw that the eleven houses will need a total of 200 sheets of corrugated roofing iron as soon as possible.

Although some of the houses had their roofs fixed they still need new roofing as they have many holes in them and are no longer strong to withstand similar strong winds in the future.

According to the people there, the roofing had been repeatedly damaged in the past and could fly off anytime.

Some roofs were removed previously from screw on and are also full of holes.

Felicitas Kurangik and Nicholas Hakata told of their bravery against Mother Nature’s gruesome nightmare on them.

 Felicitas Kurangik is a teacher and has a one year old baby, while Nicholas Hakata is the treasurer for Carterets Primary School and is a seafarer by profession having worked for Bismarck Maritime, on board vessel Sea Swallow and on board an international purseiner.

“We took off in the early hours of Saturday morning from Buka, then to Bonus at Kokopau on the other side of the Buka passage, to get Felicitas's baby," he said.
