PNG’s security issues covered

Speaking at the 17th PNG Resources and Energy Investment Conference in Sydney, Australian Assistant Minister for Trade and Assistant Minister for Manufacturing, Senator Tim Ayres, said the agreement elevates, broadens and modernises the longstanding security relationship.

“It covers both traditional and non-traditional security issues like climate change, cybersecurity, gender-based violence and protecting critical infrastructure,” he outlined to attendees on Monday, December 11th, at the Sydney International Convention Centre.

Aust Assistant Trade Minister to visit

The expo is scheduled for May 15th-17th.

“Australia and Papua New Guinea are close neighbours, partners and friends, with a shared ambition to boost our business, trade and investment relationships,” said Senator Ayres.

“Australia is proud to be Papua New Guinea’s largest economic, security and development partner, with two-way trade reaching $5 billion (K11bn) in 2021-22.
