Aus-PNG energy partnership highlights

By the close of 2023, nearly 25,000 solar home systems and 564 solar streetlights will have been installed across remote PNG communities through collaborative efforts with the PNG Government.

This initiative goes beyond mere infrastructure, as over 1000 Solar Champions will have received training, and three Solar Hubs will be operational, bolstering the sustainability of the new solar home systems. The collective impact ensures that these communities can access renewable energy for years to come.

Forestry receives K300,000 from WHP administration

The acting Provincial Administrator Joseph Mangibal at the PNGFA headquarters in Port Moresby presented the cheque to PNGFA managing director, John Mosoro on August 22, 2023. 
 
Mosoro in thanking the Governor of Western Highlands, Wai Rapa and the acting provincial administrator said; "Forestry is keen to support the provincial administration.
 

No clarity on rural electrification project

Minister Muthuvel was responding to questions raised by Pomio MP Elias Kapavore.

He clarified that the World bank is yet to come up with a master plan on the roll out of the rural electrification program in the country.

Minister Muthuvel said the master plan will enable state owned agencies to implement the program successfully.

Muthuvel added that the Government is also working on a medium term to roll out the electrification program in all districts.

He said the Government is committed in implementing this program.
