PILAG To Train Public Servants

In a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the department and the Pacific Institute of Leadership and Governance (PILAG), this will provide opportunities for staff who wish to further Public Management training or enhance their capacity through various competency training programs offered by PILAG.

DFCDR Secretary, Jerry Ubase said: “Public servants must undertake High Competency Based Training to ensure competitive effort to deliver government programs and activities.”

Public Servants Graduate

Institutions like the Pacific Institute of Leadership and Governance are offering programs and courses to help improve efficiency of public servants.

And in the public service manpower is very important in all provincial levels, and for a province like Gulf, manpower depends on training the public sector.

Last Friday during the 3rd graduation of the institution.

Esther N'drileng Mai aged 29, from Sou in Manus Province and Kevin Ehari were the only two graduates from Gulf. They were part of more than 200 Public Servants who graduated.

Counting Almost Complete

Counting at the Pacific Institute of Leadership and Governance (PILAG) for Ward 10 is progressing with eight ballot boxes left for counting.

Counting at all venues was delayed on Friday 11 June, due to police personnel and counting officials not receiving their allowances for deployment in the counting operations.

PNG Electoral Commission Counting Official, Paul Sailas said counting was delayed because they did not receive their allowances.

However, the issue has been resolved with counting for first preference votes now almost complete.
