Police issues warning to settlers

PPC Jacob Singura says there has been a great increase in the number of deaths and the rate of attempted killings has also risen over the past couple of weeks.

He says he has come up with a new strategy which he believes will help minimise these numbers and that is to go down hard on families, especially those who are not from Madang but have settled themselves in the province and are harbouring suspects.

They will send the families who are hiding criminals back to their place of origin.

Police promise to be seen in town and villages

PPC Singura says his priority for 2016 is to maintain police visibility in the town area and also in the outer stations.

Madang police start pre Christmas operations

Provincial Police Commander Jacob Singura says in the lead up to Christmas and New Year police in Madang will be carrying out awareness within communities.

This is his first week in office and he says to LOOP News that their aim is to get people to understand that law and order issues can only be minimized if people partner with police.

Singura says he hopes that awareness will discourage people from being involved in criminal activities during the Christmas and New Year period.
