Relief supplies for Ulawun eruption victims

Acting Indian High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea, Ravindra Nath announced the imminent arrival of the relief flight, scheduled for December 22nd. The Government of India, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has demonstrated unwavering support and commitment by allocating a substantial US$ 1 million relief package to aid the affected communities.

Papua delegation to donate rice

The Governor for Madang province, Ramsey Pariwa, warmly welcomed the delegation on Sunday, April 19 and on the following day hosted them at his office at Sir Bato Bultin Provincial Government office where a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed to formalize the arrangement.

The delegation’s team leader and spokesperson, Ibu Susie Waingal expressed their willingness to cooperate with Madang in a sister-province relationship or cooperation.

USAID Provides Humanitarian Aid

The United States, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), is providing an initial $100,000 (K352,500) in immediate humanitarian assistance to respond to displacement in Papua New Guinea, resulting from election and tribal-related violence, which began in May and continues.
