HASTINGS DEERING

The objective of the field trip was taken to experience and learn about the heavy construction and mining equipment industry, which could offer them a glimpse into their future careers.

The young explorers had the opportunity to inspect the huge Caterpillar D11T, which is the largest track-type tractor in the world, along with other heavy-duty machines. They didn't just observe but also learned how to operate these massive vehicles. The children were even allowed inside a simulator, which provided a hands-on experience of the equipment's operation, much to their delight.

This helps provide the players with educational and training opportunities in preparation for life after football.  

Rugby holds a strong and formidable place in the community and the same can be said of Hastings Deering since its establishment in PNG since 1949.

PNG Hunters Chief Executive Officer, Scott Barker says rugby league unites every Papua New Guinean and as people in the country.

Hastings Deering generously made a space available at their compound for the BBP team to have safe access and area to store their books and learning materials, which have been shipped in from Australia.

Buk Bilong Pikinini’s Executive Officer Leanne Resson presented certificates of appreciation to Hastings Sales and Marketing Manager Bryan Wareing and Natalie Bola who is the Administration Supervisor.
