Earthquake assessments underway

Defence Minister, Win Daki, was just in Madang, along with defence personnel, to discuss the extent of damages.

Accompanying them were Members of Parliament for Bogia, Middle Ramu, Rai Coast, Madang Governor Ramsey Pariwa and vital stakeholders.

Minister Daki’s team will head out to Rai Coast today to capture damages caused by the series of earthquakes and tremors. The group arrived in Madang late Monday and spent the next day in meetings with stakeholders on how much resources will be needed to address the devastation.

POMRFL completes week four

In yesterday’s games in the U20 men’s, Defence def. Paga Panthers 14-0 and Tarangau def. Kone Storms 6-4.

To the A Grade men’s division, Defence def. Paga Panthers 10-6, Royals def. Kone Tigers 12-10 and Tarangau def. Kone Storms 14-4.

From Friday, U20 results: Hohola Flies def. Magani 10-4, Souths def. Wests 10-8 and Kone Tigers def. Royals 12-6.

The only A Grade match played saw Wests draw with Souths 10-10.

Moresby teams dominate at softball championships

In the men's first preliminary final this morning , Defence (Port Moresby) take on the 09ERS from Madang. The second preliminary final will be between the two other Port Moresby teams in Bears and Yokomo.

Winner from both games will advance  to the grand final later this afternoon. 

Defence and Piggies in for tough battle in CRU final

Defence will go into the match as favourites to defend their consecutive title whilst University Piggies for the first time enters the premier grand final seems calm but prepared for the big battle.

Beating another Defence team last weekend during the semi-finals, University won with a nail biting one point victory 25-26 to make it to the grand final as they look confident for the match this weekend.
