This comes following weeks of confusion on who the legitimate administrator was after a Gazettal notice was circulated on the social media space of the appointment of Aloi.

The National Executive Council in an official correspondence dated March 1st, 2024, notified Aloi as the appointed PA for Madang, following the revocation of the appointment of former Acting PA Frank Lau.

As per the NEC correspondence, Mr Aloi resumes official duties immediately and will remain the PA until a substantive appointment is made.

Yama said investigations into the public administration had commenced and those implicated will be held accountable for their wrong dealings.

He issued the warning after sidelining Provincial Administrator Daniel Aloi over allegations of misappropriation and misconduct of office.

He added that public servants have nothing to be afraid of and urged them to do their job diligently.

Madang Governor Peter Yama in a media conference said allegations laid against Aloi are serious in nature, resulting in his sidelining in compliance with the Public Finance Management Act 2016.

Governor Yama said his first task when taking up the office of the Governor was to clean the provincial administration in compliance with the various administrative laws.

He said Aloi did not respond to his show cause notice delivered to him on Nov 2, 2017, in relation to 10 allegations against him.
