Acting Commander for NCD and Central Acting Chief Superintendent Laimo Asi said an investigation team went to Kupiano on Tuesday (July 4, 2023), on the day of the incident.

The incident came as thousands of people demonstrated in defiance of a protest ban for the 70th anniversary of Communist rule in China.

Shots fired at California garlic festival

The Gilroy Garlic Festival was about to finish for the weekend on Sunday evening, when shots were fired at the site.

There was "a white man in his early to mid-30s firing a rifle," eyewitness Julissa Contreras told NBC.

Video posted on social media showed people running away from the festival site amid general confusion.

The Santa Clara County Medical Center has so far admitted two victims, CBS reports.

"It was just rapid firing," Ms Contreras told NBC Bay Area. "I could see him shooting in just every direction. He wasn't aiming at anyone specifically.

Indiana child fires handgun found in sofa at Ikea

The weapon had fallen into cushions as a shopper sat down to test the sofa at the store in a suburb of the state capital, Indianapolis.

Nobody was hurt in Monday's incident and no arrests have been made. Ikea said it had expressed "sincerest apologies" to the child's family.

Police say the gun-owner did not notice he had dropped his firearm.

"He sat down and somehow or another it became dislodged from this body and when he got up he didn't realise that he was without it," Tom Weger of the Fishers Police Department told the Washington Post.

Niue men involved in shooting released on bail

The incident occurred in the village of Tuapa involving firearms. 

One of them has been released on bail after a court hearing yesterday, but has been charged with presenting a firearm. 

The other is still in custody and will appear in court today but will also be released on bail.

Police Commander Tony Edwards says they're still investigating.

"Those persons have very strict bail conditions and will be monitored by Police until the next court hearing," he says. 

'20 victims' in California shooting

Fire officials in San Bernardino said it was responding to a "20 victim shooting incident" and it was working to clear the scene.

It is still a "very active scene" and police are trying to secure the building, said a police spokeswoman.

There may be up to three gunmen, she said, and they were heavily armed and possibly wearing body armour.

She did not confirm the number of victims.

A local reporter tweeted that people are being evacuated from the Inland Regional Center, a non-profit medical and health organisation.
