Ok Tedi Mining Ltd (OTML)

OTML Managing Director and CEO, Musje Werror made the announcement following confirmation of the appointments at the company’s Board of Directors meeting recently.

He said the appointments are part of OTML’s ongoing succession planning to see its national employees transition into senior roles successfully. 

The bridge was established by Ok Tedi Mining Ltd (OTML), under the Ok Tedi Infrastructure Tax Credit Scheme program. The old bridge was damaged in 2006, preventing locals from accessing vital government services including health and education, since.

The bridge was officially opened by OTML Managing Director & CEO, Musje Werror, witnessed by OTML staff and community leaders from the six villages of Kumgit, Ankit, Okteditau, Nioksikwi, Derongo, and Boungkim.

The crusher was named the “Nurumi Crusher” following a competition to find a suitable name for the new facility. “Nurumi” means “our” in the local Min language of the Star Mountains and the new name fittingly embodies the efforts, heart and ingenuity of everyone involved in the construction and operations of the crusher.

The dedication ceremony attended by OTML and contractor employees marked the successful completion and handover of the PGK800 million project from the major project team to the Processing Business Unit.
