National Energy Authority

This follows a health investigation conducted by the NCDC Health Authority. 

The notice of condemnation and eviction was served to the top management on Friday 14 January. 

Enforcing Sections 12 and 13 of the Public Health (Sanitation and General Regulation Chapter No 226) local health officials conducted the investigation. 

It also outlines domestic market obligations, national content and community service obligations. This is according to National Energy Authority (NEA) Chairman, Joe Gabut during a workshop organized by the PNG Chamber of Mines and Petroleum in Port Moresby recently. .

Mr Gabut said the NEP envisages development of a national energy plan, subsector policies and plans and strategies for harnessing all energy sources in PNG.

Under the NEA, both renewable and non-renewable energy sources will be given focus by boosting infrastructure and capacity to advance electrification.

Acting director of regulations & licensing at the Department of Petroleum and Energy, Martin Bonou, says according to their current plans, the NEA is to be established next year and become operational before APEC 2018.
