Over the weekend, the love chase ended in Morocco where he married model Sabrina Dhowre.

Photographs posted by British Vogue showed Elba, 46 - once rumoured to be in the running to play James Bond on screen - sharing an embrace with Dhowre, 29, a former Miss Vancouver.

Elba, who is marrying for the third time, made sure the journey to Morocco was worth the trouble for his guests, who included Motown great Diana Ross and her son. The celebrations were spread over three days.

The 21-year-old has says he was already overwhelmed with emotion to be at the screening of Yardie - and that's before Idris made a surprise proposal to his girlfriend.

"It was very unexpected, such a beautiful moment," Adnan told Newsbeat.

The Luther actor popped the question to girlfriend Sabrina Dhowrie on stage at an east London cinema yesterday.

"Yardie was the first screening I've ever been to," said Adnan, from south London.

Fans of Elba have been suggesting he become the first black Bond and the actor is making the argument easy.

He's suave in a suit, has the right accent and will soon star in a new reality series titled "Idris Elba: Fighter."

The Discovery network show will reportedly follow a year of Elba training to become a professional kickboxer.

The actor is familiar with the sport, having done it as part of his workout routine, but this new adventure will take him around the world as he pursues it as a career.

The 43-year-old actor has been widely tipped by bookmakers to take over the role when Daniel Craig leaves the film series.

Elba, who is currently on the big screen in Star Trek Beyond, told ABC's Good Morning America: "I think I'm too old for that.

"Running around in cars and ladies and martinis, who wants to do that? Sounds terrible."

In fact, his tailored look burnishes the swirling rumours of being considered for the next James Bond. In the meantime, Elba’s style shines through his premium menswear collection with British lifestyle brand Superdry.

Now in its second season, Elba’s line launched in November 2015 in the U.K. This month marks the U.S. launch at the new flagship store in New York City’s Herald Square.
