Era Resources sign MOU with Mayur Power to provide electricity services

According to a statement by Era Resources the parties have agreed to negotiate on a non-exclusive basis the terms of a development agreement to secure over-the-fence supply of power for the Era’s Yandera Project in Madang.

André Wessels, Era’s Vice President of Global Operations said "we are impressed with Mayur’s strategic approach, and progress, with addressing some of the challenges in relation to power generation in PNG. We look forward to working with Mayur towards securing a competitive power solution for the Yandera Project.”

Yandera resource estimate updated

This follows significant increase in Measured, Indicated and Inferred Resources of copper deposits in the project site.

The initial Measured and Indicated Resource estimate was a 326 million tonnes of copper.

Project developers, Era Resources, say the highlights of the new resource estimate include:

• Measured and Indicated Resources total 728 million tons grading 0.33 percent copper, 0.01 percent molybdenum and 0.10 grams per ton (ppm) gold; or 0.39 percent copper equivalent

Rural Bundi patients get much-needed help

The patients received medical check-up by the six member medical team from Kundiawa Hospital on October 11-17 at Yandera, Upper Bundi.

Among the patients were two 50-year-olds, one with stage four cervical cancer and the other with chronic Henson disease, who suffered severe abdominal pains and renal issues for six years.

The cancer patient was referred by the visiting medical team for urgent treatment and blood transfusion at the Kundiawa Hospital.

A four-year-old female patient with chronic productive cough was also among the five patients being airlifted.

School thanks mining company for airlifting exam papers

The school successfully completed the Grade 8 national examinations this week.

ERA Resources airlifted the exam papers to Yandera, a remote village at the foothills of Mt. Wilhelm in Bundi.

Headmaster of Yandera Primary, Raymond Sagolo said the school is a zone four disadvantaged school and thanked the mining company for the assistance.

Sagolo said getting to Madang town for any administration matters including picking up exam papers is very risky and has always been a very difficult challenge over the years.

Era Resources looks to complete feasibility on Yandera

He said Yandera, which has a measured re­source of 195 million tonnes averag­ing 0.46% copper equivalent, is tar­geting an overall resource (measured, indicated and inferred) upgrade to around the billion tonne mark.

Britz added that the company was also studying the potential for an oxide leaching oper­ation from 12 target oxide zones near the main Yandera deposit.

The Yandera Project is hosted within a 624-square kilometre tenement package, in Madang Province.
