Wapenamanda to revive mini cultural show

The Cultural Show chairman Samson Las, expressed his determination to rejuvenate the event in partnership with the National Cultural Commission (NCC).

The formal launch of the Wapenamanda cultural show took place at the NCC office in Port Moresby. At the ceremony, the NCC presented certificate of participation and recognition to the district show committee certifying the Wapenamanda District Cultural Show as a nationally sanctioned event.

Kundiawa Gembogl to host cultural show

Member for Kundiawa-Gembogl and Vice Minister assisting the Prime Minister Muguwa Dilu received a donation of K10,000  from the National Cultural Commission to support the event, scheduled to take place from the 10-12 September 2023.

Over 50 cultural groups from the corners of Chimbu Province are set to converge in Kundiawa town to proudly display their rich and unique traditions. 

Pikinini festival elevates Goroka's cultural splendor

A remarkable prelude to this celebrated event is the Pikinini Festival, scheduled for the opening day, September 15th, which promises to be a captivating display of cultural heritage and youthful enthusiasm.

The Pikinini Festival, affectionately known as Pikinini Day, is an initiative born out of a collective commitment to preserve and promote Papua New Guinea's diverse cultural tapestry.

Jubilee Secondary host cultural show

The theme for this year is, ‘Identity Though Diversity’. A total of 25 traditional groups took part in the event.

The SCR coordinator, Elizabeth Ikupu said the cultural show in any educational institution is often hosted to enhance cultural diversity.

“That is why the school has been hosting cultural shows as a platform for the young generation to value their culture and custom,” she said.

Tokarara Secondary School puts on cultural show

The school was packed to capacity with students and their families and friends as well as the public who were out there to enjoy the show.

The show was colorful and spectacular with performances by the students representing the 21 provinces in PNG.

Today saw a very good turnout with face painting from students, good security services provided, making it trouble free for all.

It surely was a show to remember.
