2022 Corporate Slow Pitch Softball Competition

Slow Pitch Softball Grand Final

Both teams finished first and second in their pools and went through elimination play-off last week undefeated to qualify for the big dance.

Last weekend both teams knocked off the two best teams in their pool to book the big decider for tomorrow.
The Cup play-off will be an even contest, but the Lions have the edge over Trukai having defeated them in the normal pool games.

SLOWPITCH SET FOR FINALS

With only two pools, it’s been decided to cross the pools to enable Pool A teams to play pool B teams in a knock out format this weekend. Winners proceed straight to the grand final next weekend.

With the uncertainty surrounding polling, they are fast tracking the play offs to stage the finals as soon as possible.

Meanwhile the two teams that have maintained first placing from the start of the competition are Swire Shipping Vikings in Pool A and Cardno Lions in Pool B.

Slow Pitch Returns

For the past two seasons it was a case of wait and see for Port Moresby Softball and other sports for that matter due to the threat of the covid-19 pandemic.

Despite a number of forfeitures earlier in the day, it was game on at the Bisini Diamonds.

16 teams from various corporate companies took time out from their busy work schedules to engage in fun softball, bonding and building friendship with company employees.

President of the Port Moresby Women’s Softball Association Ian Soweni said despite of the slow start, all the games went according to schedule.
