An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) crucial for saving lives, along with the personal belongings of dedicated paramedics were stolen.

Momase Regional Commander, Anderson Poumb condemned the act, emphasizing the risk it poses to the community's safety.

The largest contingent of the Joint Ambulances medical support team arrived in Port Moresby on Saturday, November 10^th, and are residing at the Mahuru Seaview Hotel.

The guests were welcomed by local traditional dancers organised by the Hotel.

St John Ambulance PNG Chief Paramedic Officer, Phil Proust, said: “All these paramedics have come here voluntarily, no paramedic has been paid, they’ve taken their own holidays, their leaves, they’ve left their families and because they want to help Papua New Guinea.

The program will commence on July 10 at the ambulance headquarters, and will run for six weeks and includes additional two weeks’ placement at the Port Moresby General Hospital.

Participants will have hands-on experience in the maternity wards, emergency department and in the operating theatre.

They will be taught advanced airway management to be able to help reduce the main complications of health care for everyday people in the community.
