Workshops being organised for political parties

Their visit is part of a workshop organised by the Registrar of Political Parties & Candidates Commission.

Registrar, Dr Alphonse Gelu, says the workshop seeks to improve party policies and platforms and prepare them well for the 2017 National General Elections.

He said several other workshops have taken place around the country and all are part and parcel of preparing the parties.

Next week’s workshop will be held from October 6 – 7 at the Bengo Conference Room in the Commissions head office.

Workshop to identify better tourism marketing strategies

 A tourism marketing workshop is underway in Port Moresby today, highlighting the issue with the theme "Reviewing marketing activities for tourism growth in PNG”.

The workshop aims to gather views from various stakeholders in the industry to assist with a comprehensive tourism planning process.

Tourism Minister Tobias Kulang said marketing must start locally and the marketing goals must be integrated and aligned with development and management. This is to ensure the appropriate messaging and outcomes are delivered.

Coffee extension officers to meet in Aiyura

The Productive Partnerships in Agriculture Project (PPAP), operating under Coffee Industry Corporation (CIC) will facilitate the training workshop on 22-26 February at the CIC’s PNG Coffee Research Institute in Aiyura, Eastern Highlands Province.

Close to 30 participants are expected to attend.

The purpose of this exercise is to improve and strengthen the capacity of extension officers who are key personnel on the ground to train growers and farmers on improved farming techniques and sustainability issues.
