Rihanna slams NBA player Matt Barnes amid dating rumors

Dating rumors between the two sparked a while ago after the Memphis Grizzlies player made it clear that he was feelin' the Barbados beauty. He made her his #WCW (Woman Crush Wednesday) on Instagram a few months ago, and would flirted with her over Twitter a couple years ago when she sat courtside at his Lakers games.

His ex-wife Gloria Govan even reportedly gave her stamp of approval—as long as she got hooked up with concert tickets—so when asked about what's really going on with him and RiRi, Barnes told TMZ that they're "just past the crush stage."

J.K. Rowling's inspiring advice to young fan on Twitter

Whether you're looking for Harry Potter confessions or one-of-a-kind zingers (basically, don't ever body shame Serena Williams), you should look no further than the best-selling author's social media page.

But on Saturday morning, the 50-year-old writer managed to make fans feel deeply touched when she responded to a stranger on social media who hopes to follow in her footsteps.

"You inspired me to write. However, in Egypt, girls can't do anything freely as boys," the Twitter user wrote. "They laugh at me when I say I am a writer."

Twitter slams Wendy Williams after Ariana Grande shaming comments

The 51-year-old talk show host found herself on the receiving end of rampant criticism after she made a few controversial comments about Ariana Grande and seemingly body-shamed the 22-year-old pop star on The Wendy Williams Show.

"She's 21. She'll forever look 12," Williams said as the audience laughed. "And I don't mean that in a good way. It's nice to look younger than you are, but when you look too young and then you're short—she's only like 4'11". I don't look at her as, like, a woman."

Katy Perry raves about FKA Twigs' new music video

Shortly after releasing the lengthy clip, Perry took to Twitter to write, "The crown has officially been snatched from everyone," and included a link for all her Katycats to see.

Well, then! If that's not a rave review, then we don't know what is.

(Sidebar: It should be noted that Perry and Twigs have one superstar in common, Robert Pattinson! The pop star has been close pals with the Twilight hunk for years, and of course, the Brit songstress is soon-to-become Ms. Pattinson herself!)

But back to the matter at hand, the music video!

Twitter stock tumbles as user growth stalls

Twitter is "not satisfied" with its user growth, co-founder Jack Dorsey, who replaced Dick Costolo as CEO earlier this month, said Tuesday after the earnings report. But that's unlikely to change any time soon.

Twitter doesn't expect to see "sustained, meaningful growth" of its number of users until it reaches the mass market, said Chief Financial Officer Anthony Noto. This, he said, will take considerable time.

Could Twitter stop the next terrorist attack?

In private meetings on Capitol Hill, industry officials have told lawmakers and congressional staff that they already ban grisly content like beheadings and alert law enforcement if they suspect someone might get hurt, as soon as they are aware of a threat.

Facebook loses in clash with prosecutors over users' data

The state Supreme Court Appellate Division ruling won't put any new information in prosecutors' hands. Facebook had lost earlier rulings and already turned the data over. But the case has been closely watched by social media companies, civil libertarians and prosecutors.

Facebook said it was weighing its options for continuing the fight.

Cuba parliament meets, live-tweets session for 1st time

President Raul Castro was attending the gathering and was expected to make his first public comments since the United States and Cuba announced they will re-establish diplomatic relations on Monday and reopen embassies in each other's respective capitals.

State-run website Cubadebate reported that the National Assembly was considering a final budget report for 2014 and the status of Cuba's economic plan over the first half of this year.

Fake story on buyout sends Twitter stock briefly higher

The story, which cited "people with knowledge of the situation," appeared on a website made to look like Bloomberg's business news page.

The website was registered Friday, according to a search of the nonprofit Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, and the identity of the person or company who registered it is not publicly available.

Bloomberg spokesman Ty Trippet says the story is "fake and appeared on a bogus website that was not affiliated with Bloomberg."
