But on Saturday morning, the 50-year-old writer managed to make fans feel deeply touched when she responded to a stranger on social media who hopes to follow in her footsteps.

Shortly after releasing the lengthy clip, Perry took to Twitter to write, "The crown has officially been snatched from everyone," and included a link for all her Katycats to see.

Twitter is "not satisfied" with its user growth, co-founder Jack Dorsey, who replaced Dick Costolo as CEO earlier this month, said Tuesday after the earnings report. But that's unlikely to change any time soon.

Bloomberg spokesman Ty Trippet says the story is "fake and appeared on a bogus website that was not affiliated with Bloomberg."
