Sir John Guise Indoor Complex

2nd runway for rebranded fashion body

The event is set to take place at the Sir John Guise Indoor Complex at Waigani, Port Moresby.

The announcement also comes with some clarification of its transition this year.

The body was introduced last year as PNG Fashion Week and its first runway show hosted on August 20th, 2016, showcasing 7 talented local designers under the theme Tribal Electic.

Founder and director Janet Sios said it has rebranded its image and will now be known as ‘PNG Fashion and Design Week’, a formally registered company under IPA.

Show thanks listeners for tributes

Current Talkback Show co-host Douglas Dimagi said they have received hundreds of tributes throughout the week following Hau’ofa’s passing on Saturday, March 4.

Hau’ofa served the radio industry for more than 50 years and hosted the popular radio talkback show since its inception in 1995 up until mid-2016.

“We acknowledge the overwhelming response and support we’ve been getting through the show this week,” said Dimagi.

“We have had many callers and radio personalities who have paid tribute to the legendary Roger Hau’ofa.”

UN Concert attracts hundreds, displays worldwide cultural dances

The Sir John Guise Indoor Complex came alive with the musical sounds of the different cultural dances and songs from Africa, Europe, Asia, the Americas and Pacific Islands of countries in the United Nations.

This year's event marked the 40th anniversary of the International Education Agency with the theme "40 years of building a world without boundaries".

This saw other IEA schools in Moresby invited to also perform at the event, including Gordon, Boroko East, The Ela Murray and Korobosea International School.
