Sir Buri Kidu Heart Institute

The medical items were Wheelchairs, Digital Weighing Scales, Height Measuring Tapes, USB Blood Glucose Meters and Lensing Devices, Led Otoscopes, Stethoscopes, Digital Body Thermometers, and Blood Pressure Monitors.

Head of Bank of South Pacific (BSP) Employee Relation, Kila Nouairi, Head of OSB Support Ray Baloiloi and the BSP ‘People and Culture Team’ made the presentation to Cardiologist and Director of the Sir Buri Kidu Heart Institute, Professor Sir. Isi Kevau and his team.

These much-needed medical equipment were purchased following a fundraising drive by concerned Manusians living outside the province.  

The idea to purchase the monitor came about after musician Kenny Lucas’ referral from Lorengau for checkup at Port Moresby General Hospital’s Sir Buri Kidu Heart Institute in February.

Discussions on the Facebook page “Manus issues” led to the initiative being driven in Port Moresby, which led to the formation of a committee.
