Barcelona to sign strike ace Lewandowski

In a bold move by the debt-ridden club to acquire a world-class scorer who can finally help fill the void a year after Lionel Messi's exit last summer, Barca have reached an agreement in principle with the German giants.

Bayern president Herbert Hainer confirmed on Saturday that the two clubs had reached an agreement in principle for Lewandowski's move to the Nou Camp.

"We have come to a verbal agreement with Barcelona. It's good to have clarity for all parties," Hainer said on Bayern's official Twitter account.

Russell Crowe urges Leeds to sign Lewandowski

But the New Zealand-born star of 'Gladiator' and 'Les Miserables' does not seem to have grasped the reality of the transfer market as yet after he urged the Elland Road outfit to sign one of the world's biggest stars.

In the aftermath of Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski being named Bundesliga's Player of the Month for October, Crowe took to Twitter in a bid to try and push Leeds towards signing the Poland international.

"[Lewandowski] player of the month for October [in the Bundesliga]. Have a good look @LUFC!!" he wrote on social media.
