Schools rugby league has new manager

The announcement was made by the PNGRFL CEO, Reatau Rau, at the signing of the five-year agreement with Coca-Cola PNG Ltd yesterday.

Krewanty was Kumul number 105.

He came through the schools rugby league program in the 1970s, joined the PNGRFL in 2012 as part of the NRL Bid program where in the following year, he was appointed Game Development manager.

PNGRFL CEO Reatau Rau said Krewanty became the first team manager of the SP PNG Hunters when it entered the Queensland Intrust Super Cup competition in 2014.

Rugby league international development program

PNGRFL CEO, Reatau Rau, made this statement in the presence of international rugby league representatives recently.

The Rugby League International Federation (RLIF) and the Rugby League World Cup 2021 in England staff were in Port Moresby to discuss the International Development Program.

In a joint press conference last week, PNGRFL CEO Reatau Rau said changes made in the past years has placed them in a better position to attract international events.

Appointments announced in PNG Orchids team

PNG Rugby Football League chairman, Sandis Tsaka, yesterday revealed the appointment of a chairperson of the newly-established PNG Orchids Executive Management Committee (OEMC), as well as a new head coach.

Experienced journalist and public relations executive, Ruth Waram, is the new chairperson of the PNG Orchids Executive Management Committee, while the new head coach of the women’s national team is former PNG Kumul David Westley.

Hunters will play in Lae

The PNG Rugby Football League has officially announced that the Hunters will play in Lae on Sunday, July 22nd.

As part of the Intrust Super Cup country week game, the SP Hunters will be playing against the Norths Devils in the round 19 match.

In a press conference today, PNGRFL CEO, Reatau Rau, said the theme for the country week is ‘Get in the game’, and this includes community engagements and conducting coaching clinics, which the SP Hunters players and staff will attend to.

TV Wan Action to broadcast international double header

These two games will mark the official start to our PNG Rugby League season.

Our two champion teams – Digicel Cup premiers Lae Snax Tigers and Queensland Intrust Super Cup premiers SP PNG Hunters - begin their defence against quality opposition.

In a statement, PNGRFL CEO, Reatau Rau explained that both games are equal in status with the first game between the Tigers and Nadi Aviators not dubbed as a curtain raiser but the first of the international double header for the day.

Reatau Rau is new PNGRFL CEO

The news of his appointment was made public today at a press conference at the Ela Beach Hotel in Port Moresby.

In attendance were the Directors from all four rugby league confederates (New Guinea Islands, Northern, Southern and Highlands) and PNGRFL board member, Graham Osborne.

Chairman of the PNGRFL, Sandis Tsaka explained that board made the decision to appoint Rau after its fourth and final meeting last night.
