PMGH Mortuary needs expansion

In an interview with the Chief Executive Officer of the PMGH, Dr Paki Molumi, he said many of the bodies come from outside the hospital care, which could be accommodated in an outside facility but over the years Port Moresby General Hospital has taken on that responsibility because there has not been a public mortuary built.

Dr. Molumi said those deaths that occurred outside of the hospital were the responsibility of the city authority.

Prisoner wakes up in mortuary in Asturias Spain

Gonzalo Montoya Jiménez, an inmate at a jail in the Asturias region, regained consciousness just hours before an autopsy was due to be performed.

His body is said by his family to have been marked in preparation for the post-mortem examination.

He is now under observation in intensive care at an Oviedo hospital.

Family members told local newspaper La Voz de Asturias that Montoya "had autopsy markings on him, ready to be opened up".
