Minister Kilepa’s rare Christmas visits

Minister Kilepa told the inmates that there is always a second chance in life and they should not despair.

Kilepa encouraged the prisoners by saying, “If life gives you a lemon, you give back a lemonade! Some of you are future leaders, don’t give up.”

Bihute Correctional Services Acting Commanding Officer, Senior Inspector Petrus Emma expressed appreciation to Minister Kilepa saying it was a blessing. She said the happiness and joy of his visit was evident on each person’s face present.

Kilepa Clamps Down On Scanned Form 11s

The move follows advice that senior public servants were attempting to use his scanned signature to withdraw money.

He said this was done without his knowledge, and on a scanned Form-11 (official guarantee document from MP) that had his signature.

“This is fraud in nature and I want this to stop,” Mr. Kilepa said.

Mr. Kilepa has reported the matter to police after he met with Eastern Highlands Provincial Police Commander Michael Welly.

“I will send a technical from my department to visit Lihir. They will investigate and report back to me with a report within two weeks. I want this issue sorted out once and for all,” Minister Pundari told the LSA team.
