Nickel 28 Scholarship Boosts Geoscience

The Toronto-based company, holding an 8.56 percent joint-venture interest in the esteemed Ramu Nickel Cobalt operation in Madang province, is now in its second year of supporting tertiary education through a sponsorship program in collaboration with the Earth Sciences Division at the University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG).

Bringing geoscience, society together for sustainable development

This was the challenge that a group of 42 early-career scientists and practitioners from geoscience and social science backgrounds set out to tackle at the inaugural Researching Social Theories, Resources, and Environment (ReSToRE) International Summer School.

The event was hosted by the Irish Centre for Research in Applied Geosciences (iCRAG) and organised under the patronage of UNESCO. It took place in University College Dublin, Ireland, from 1st to 5th July, 2019.
