Foul play

Mt Hagen Eagles captain banned

This decision comes after a full review by the PNGNRLC of the Round 4 Digicel ExxonMobil Cup match between the Mt Hagen Eagles and Gas Resources Central Dabaris in Minj on Saturday.

The match referee, Bonny Bin has also been penalised; the PNGNRLC admitted that the referee was incorrect in changing his decision late in the match.

Ballot box with election materials discovered

The box is believed to be a result of foul play.

Upon tipoff, a convoy headed up to Tapini late Thursday afternoon, says Allan Ravai, a scrutineer of the first runner up, who was among those who retrieved the box and its contents.

Ravai says the convoy consisted of a few media personnel and candidates who contested the Goilala Open Seat.

“The ballot box was there containing 9 unused ballot pads, 16 used ballot pads and some other ballot pads in about 5 envelopes,” he said.
