PNG Games: Pioneer para athlete retires

He made an 'honour lap' around the track at the Sasi Stadium during today's Paralympic presentation.

It was a form of farewell to the sport that he will be retiring from after spending half of his life committed to developing it.

Tuwara said the reason for his exit was to mentor and allow younger para athletes to have a chance of showcasing their special abilities.

“It is not easy to look after us, but for most of us, it is the unconditional love of our parents that keeps us going and pushes us to explore our full potential despite our defects,” Tuwara said.
