Childrens Ward

Xmas cheer at PMGH children’s ward

This is the first-ever visit by the CACC members, which included Finance Secretary Sam Penias, National Executive Council Secretary Grace So’on, and Chief Secretary to Government Ivan Pomaleu.

In the true spirit of giving, gifts were handed to the wards and their guardians, with the Chief Secretary describing it as a “pleasant visit that brought plenty of smiles to the children and their parents.”

Pomaleu and the team were briefed by the Port Moresby General Hospital Chief Executive Officer, Dr Paki Molumi, before distributing gift hampers to each child.

Keeping children in the ward entertained

Unfortunately, it can be a disheartening experience for those children suffering from illnesses, who have to stay indoors, especially in a hospital.

For children at the Angau Memorial Hospital Children’s Ward, the donation of a TV set and a range of channels to view from will try to bring some comfort to them whilst they undergo treatment.

Over the weekend, the Digicel Lae office donated a 40-inch flat screen TV and a Playbox and antenna. The gift comes with a lifetime free to view subscription to the children’s ward at the hospital.
