Police recruits arrive for regular training

Police Commissioner, David Manning acknowledged 13 recruits from Vanimo and Milne Bay, who were escorted from the airport to Bomana where they were allocated rooms.

Six recruits, which included a female and five males flew were from Vanimo, while the other seven are from Alotau. The Milne Bay recruits include one female and six males.

Joyce Kambei, the only female recruit from Milne Bay, said she was happy to be amongst the males who had made it through for training at the college.

Police trainers go through skills in human rights enforcement

Thirdly male and female police training officers from different provinces took part in the week-long training between July 11-16.

The officers were given the chance to be trained on strengthening their skills on human rights and law enforcement of which they actively contributed in delivering training materials, testing training techniques as well as discussing issues relevant for human rights and policing in the country.

The Training of Trainers’ course is expected to be followed by the roll-out of training throughout the rest of the provinces in the country.
