The United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) together with the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary and the Bomana Police Training College last week organised a Training of Trainers (ToT) course on Human Rights and Law enforc

Thirdly male and female police training officers from different provinces took part in the week-long training between July 11-16.

The officers were given the chance to be trained on strengthening their skills on human rights and law enforcement of which they actively contributed in delivering training materials, testing training techniques as well as discussing issues relevant for human rights and policing in the country.

The Training of Trainers’ course is expected to be followed by the roll-out of training throughout the rest of the provinces in the country.

These ongoing efforts are in line with the RPNGC plan to transform the Bomana Training College into National Centre of Excellence integrating international human rights standards into professional training.
