A foreigner in Madang was held up while trying to make a delivery run to the bank on Monday this week.
The victim and two company employees were attacked by the criminals using home made guns, slingshots and bushknives.
According to police reports, the victim of Asian origin, with two of the company employees were taking the weekend takings into Madang town for banking.
Along the way, more than 10 robbers held them up, attacked the victim and made away with K24, 000 in cash.
The police report alleges that the money was from the weekend takings, and that the Asian and helpers were trying to conduct a bank run when they were held up.
Police tried to catch the robbers but they had already fled further into the bush.
