West Tigers

Record wins for Tigers

Adding to the Broncos' woes was a horrific leg injury suffered by back-rower Corey Oates late in the game. Play was stopped for several minutes while Oates was stretchered from the field and taken straight to hospital.

The nine-try blowout margin easily eclipsed the Tigers' previous biggest win over the Broncos - a 34-6 semi-final rout on route to their 2005 premiership.

Meanwhile second placed Melbourne scored seven tries in a 42-6 win over Gold Coast.

Tigers and Storm claim NRL wins

The hosts made a flying start when Mikaele Ravalawa was awarded a penalty try in the second minute – Corey Thompson shoving the Fijian to the floor as he was about to ground an in-goal kick at the end of a 70-metre run.

David Nofoaluma grabbed a clever kick from the inspired Benji Marshall, who booted eight points, to level matters but Zac Lomax went over and added his own extras to ensure the Dragons led 12-8 at the break.

Josh Reynolds' charges dropped

Reynolds, 30, was charged in December over an alleged domestic violence incident.

However, the Tigers confirmed on Wednesday that charges against Reynolds had been dropped.

"This news comes as a great relief to Josh as well as our club," Tigers chief executive Justin Pascoe said in a statement.

"Josh has carried himself extremely well throughout what has no doubt been a very stressful time for him and his family, and we look forward to him continuing to play a key role for this club on and off the field in the years to come."

Mitchell could make Tigers move

The Tigers withdrew an offer for the Australia star last month after the Roosters took a contract offer for the 22-year-old off the table.

Mitchell.did not rule out remaining in Sydney with the premiers but has reportedly been told by the Roosters he will be unable to stay on due to salary-cap restrictions.

Wests chairman Lee Hagipantelis revealed Roosters counterpart Nick Politis has been in touch to notify him of Mitchell's availability.

Cleary junior beats his dad

Cleary had missed the past seven matches with a knee issue but set up a first- half try and broke three tackles in a strong performance against his dad's Tigers side.

He has now won both contests against father Ivan but, more importantly, took a step towards a possible NSW debut two weeks before teams are selected for the State of Origin opener.

The halfback combined well with veteran James Maloney in a dominant first half at Penrith Stadium, where the hosts enjoyed triple the amount of plays inside the opposition 20-metre zone.

Warriors welcome back big guns for clash with Wests Tigers

Half Shaun Johnson, centre Solomone Kata, and forward Tohu Harris have all been named in the starting side who will be looking to bounce back from their Anzac Day drubbing in Melbourne.

In what could be a stunning turnaround, Issac Luke is set to remain in the No. 9 jersey despite being deemed unavailable for the next four weeks due to injury as recently as Monday.

The in-form hooker went through Monday's practice and is now pencilled in to start after he lasted just 16 minutes against Melbourne before he succumbed to a knee injury.

Parramatta Eels continue resurgence with 24-22 win over Wests Tigers

After losing their opening six games of the season, the Eels have recorded back- to-back wins to breathe life into their flailing campaign.

However the victory was quickly soured by fears second-rower Tony Williams tore his ACL for the second time in a year.

"I don't think it's real good. He needs to have scan tomorrow, but I've been told that it's ACL," Eels coach Brad Arthur said after the match.

Tigers too good for struggling Eels

Having failed to score over 10 points in their previous three games, Ivan Cleary's side cut loose in attack to bounce back from their golden-point loss to Brisbane Broncos last time out.

The Eels opened the scoring when Will Smith caught a high kick by Mitchell Moses before diving over, with the successful conversion making it 6-0 to the visitors.

However, inspired by half-back pairing Luke Brooks and Benji Marshall, the Tigers roared back with 20 unanswered points in the remainder of the first half.

I was unwanted at Wests Tigers: Marshall

Marshall starred in his first game back for the Tigers in Saturday's upset win over the Sydney Roosters, his first game for the club since leaving for Super Rugby club the Auckland Blues at the end of 2013.

It was originally understood Marshall's departure came about following a contract dispute over a potential extension at the club, but the playmaker revealed on Sunday he was left unwanted by the Tigers' previous administration.

Marshall backs Lolohea at No 1

Marshall described Lolohea as being Tonga's second-best player, only behind powerhouse forward Jason Taumalolo, during their dream RLWC campaign which ended in Saturday's heart-breaking semifinal loss to England.

Playing at five-eighth, Lolohea guided Mate Ma'a Tonga to within touching distance of a dream finals appearance.

While his kicking, fifth-tackle options and game management was sometimes lacking during the RLWC, his explosiveness and game-breaking ability was on show.
